Wonder Villains. Re-release Zola. Video with a very special guest.

23 Jun

Wonder Villains have proved again that Gianfranco Zola is a legend as he took the time to appear in the video for their song ‘Zola’, paying homage to the man himself. A Perfectly timed release to pin itself to the madness of the World Cup as it proves music is a funny old game of two halves. When a comeback is on the cards it just takes a moment of magic and the introduction of somebody like Zola to your music video can just offer something new and create some chances.
At the end of the day it was a good song they gave it 110% and probably deserved a little more out of it.

Little Green Cars: My love took me down to the river to silence me

Another great video from Little Green Cars capturing the atmosphere of the song perfectly with a hint of a story and plenty of dark dystopian fantasy spread across the Burren in Co.Clare, Ireland.

The Dying Seconds – Panacea

The Dying Seconds

The Dying Seconds

The new ep from The Dying Seconds ‘Panacea’ is a lovingly crafted little auditory journey. Opening with the acoustically plucked guitar and urgent but restrained vocals about the breakdown of a relationship and the struggle against its end. The mix of vocal style’s with the backing vocals coming in much more like a calm echo to the urgent lead creating a fantastic contrast. Its reminiscent of some Alt J tracks but with more of an acoustic feel and the instrumentation of Bon Iver. The lead singer reminds me in parts of Tom Smith (editors) or Paul Banks (Interpol) a slight haunting quality to his baritone voice.

A fantastic ep with rich instrumentation and considered lyrics delivered with honesty and feeling throughout.

The Dying Seconds: 10-4

What a perfect video for this song it just captures the sentiment perfectly. Who hasn’t walked around with a cloud over them listening to a song in the same way. Real nice La Blogothèque style too it as well with the live vocals.
