Foals: Inhaler

6 Nov

Finally a Foals song I can genuinely say I like. Bar a couple of singles I have never been to interested in the band they always looked/sounded more like a style over substance kind of act. The new song Inhaler has some balls leaning much heavier on the rock side of things than the hip indie electro of tracks before. It simply sounds dirty with distorted bass and whispered/shouted vocals. It’s like they listened to the rise of the kind of dirty rock that Jack White has been making for years along with the Black Keys and The Minutes. Maybe even a little more radio friendly Deftones. The video even has a parental advisory warning at the start because of a scene with a tattoo artist I’ll let you see it rather than spoil the surprise, I’m sure Foals where delighted as it helps add to the feeling of this new sound. Definitely worth a listen and it has me interested in the new album.
